I am a freelance English to German, English to Czech translator/
consecutive interpreter based in San Diego, California.
My native languages are German and Czech equally and they are
my target languages.
Before coming to the U.S., I have been working for several years
as an in-house and freelance translator and court certified interpreter
(German<>Czech) in Berlin, Germany. With time, my working
language pairs have changed due to my location and continued education,
and English>German has become the most dominant combination.
My specializations are Software and Website Localization and
Testing, Marketing and Advertising, Clinical Trials (Pharmaceutical
Industry) and Medical Devices, Press Releases, Fashion, Travel
and Subtitling.
I have been interpreting in depositions, medical evaluations,
company tours and at the Miss Universe Pageant (public broadcast
interpreting, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009).
I hold a Master's Degree in Translation and Interpretation
for German and Czech (Staatliches Prüfungsamt für Übersetzer,
Berlin).
This and other credentials (BA in Czech and Russian, Humboldt
University Berlin) have been recognized by the Academic Credentials
Evaluation Institute.
I have more than 15 years of working experience, in Europe
as well as in the U.S. and stay updated in my native languages
through frequent travel, reading of relevant materials and cooperation/meetings
with in-country colleagues.
